I am just getting home from an encouraging weekend in Colorado Springs after being with Rachel and Brooke. I love those friends and do not spend enough time with them. It is amazing how you can spend a weekend with girls and leave feeling closer to the Lord and encouraged about who I am. The Lord has truly blessed me with them and I know that they are a rare find.
They both encouraged me to read this new book, "Crazy Love" by Frances Chan, and I am blown away by what I am learning. There is a spiritual epidemic going around and no matter how many fascinating things we hear about God, we still forget how great He is. We have spiritual amnesia. I could think about one of the phrases below for hours and still not be able to wrap my head around it all, but I am learning more about Him and more about myself in light of who He is.
**If He died for me and if I understood what that meant, wouldn't I respond with a crazy love? Why is my response so lukewarm?
**If our lives ended with punishment from God, that would be perfectly fair. God hates sin and punishes sin, and He is perfectly just in doing so.
**What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.
**It is ridiculous for us to think we have the right to limit God to something we are capable of comprehending, especially if my mind is the size of a soda can, and God is bigger than all of the oceans.
**Don't we live as though God is created for us, to do our biddings, to bless us, and to take care of our loved ones? We forget that He is God!
