this week

"Difficulty is the very atmosphere of miracle."

I heard this yesterday in my staff meeting, and I could apply it to so many areas of my life. Here are two:

One: I had the worst Wyldlife club I have ever had on Tuesday night. The kids were out of control, and we made a mess of the basement... I wanted to cry! As the night came to a close though, I realized that this moment might be a difficult one, but I am thankful to serve a God who is working out His purpose in the midst of chaos. He is working out the salvation of each kid in that room; His timing is one of patience. He is so very patient with those kids and with me. He is working a miracle each day at Pace in the hearts of these kids, even though sometimes all I see is the difficulty.

Two: I was pulling up to bible study on Monday night and hit the curb... I popped 2 tires. Yep, 2. I had already had a crappy day and as a burst into tears, I felt the Lord reminding me He was in control. I was in front of my biblestudy home, and the parents immediately came to help me. They called tire places, helped me figure out what to do, and drove me to follow the tow truck. The dad was so selfless. He had a long day at work, but he refused to leave me by myself. He sat with me for over an hour waiting for my car to get fixed. It was a difficult Monday, but in the midst of it, the Lord was working. His story did not end with my busting my tires... it ended with Him providing for me and sending people to help when I needed someone. It was not a fun situation to be in, but His provision was sweet.

He can use any hard time for His glory, even the most mundane yet difficult Monday and Tuesday nights in my life.
