Carlos

I had lunch with the sweetest man yesterday. Carlos has recently come on Younglife staff with us, and I have loved getting to know him. He is such a humble servant heart, and the kids at North Atlanta love him.  He is always the first to help with anyone in need. He is loyal and faithful. He always addresses our boss as "Mr. Randy" when the rest of us are more casual. His Younglife team threw him a birthday party the other week, and he told us it was the first birthday party anyone ever threw him.  He is 32.
He has a story like no other I have heard. He lived on the streets. He was in prison. He has been shot at several times. He sold drugs on the streets on San Antonio, Texas. But he said the worst part of the whole thing was his angry heart.

It is so hard for me to imagine Carlos this way and living that life.  He is truly the definition of "becoming a new creation, where the old is gone and the new has come." He is thankful that his heart is so completely different than it was before, and I am, too.
