1 Thessalonians 2: 2, 8~
"But with the help of our God, we dared to tell you His gospel in spite of strong opposition."
"We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become to dear to us."
These two verses give me courage to devote myself to Young Life and to keep sharing my life with kids. There are times I am going to be stood up. There are times I am going to feel awkward sitting in the student section at a game. There are times my schedule is going to be interrupted by a phone call. There are times I am going to get a text at 3 in the morning. There are times I am not going to feel like being a leader anymore, but I will always be a Young Life leader for the rest of my life because I will always be someone's Young Life leader. It is a high cost at times, but it is a high calling, too. There are kids waiting to hear the gospel, and I might not be the most articulate to share the good news with them, but I can simply show up. God has a different plan for my schedule, and I am honored to be able to be used by Him, even if it means giving up a Saturday night to spend time with a middle school drama queen or a high school student who is hurting and in need of love and acceptance.
