wisdom... I pray for wisdom. But what does that really mean for me?
I know God is infinitely wise and that is at the root of all truth. Tozer says, "Wisdom sees everything in focus, each in proper perspective to all, and is thus able to work toward predestined goals with flawless precision." From that definition, I learn I can never be wise. I will never see everything in perfect focus and then be able to carry it out with flawless precision. Yep, you heard me... not going to happen.
But I can rest in what God is. He is the only wise God. His acts are pure, wise, and good. He has the wisdom to plan things out and the power to carry it out. He says in Isaiah, "I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them." We can rest in the wisdom of God to guide our lives. We can trust that the wisdom of God is ultimately best. And we can pray for the wisdom of God to consume our lives and calm our anxious hearts.
